OptumHealth - Physical Health of California

Network Standards
Optum assesses the network specific to products and benefit designs. The network is reviewed to ensure it meets any regulatory requirements and also meet adequacy for all specialties based on ConnectiCare Access Standards based on Urban/Suburban and Rural in addition to CMS access standards based on Large Metro, Metro, Micro, Rural standards as defined by CMS. The networks are analyzed at least annually, and interventions are implemented to improve availability when needed.

The Optum provider network is built to provide an array of licensed qualified professionals and programs/facilities. The network represents an array of clinical specialties and expertise to allow timely access and availability for our membership taking into account geographic access in terms of distance and travel time as well as member population density. Optum continually works to ensure the diversity of the network to meet the clinical, cultural, linguistic and geographic needs of its members.
